Jack has been alone and ignored for 300 years with no one believing in him and everything Jack felt had been bottled up. I think that's how Jack's personality could be. To hide his sadness he play pranks and tries to be a happy person. He played all those tricks just for attention to have someone believe in him, Bunny happened to be one of victims of his trickery in the blizzard of '68.
I reckon that in the prompt, Bunny confronts Jack about his behaviour and about blizzard of '68 and Jack just snapped. He hasn't felt any comfort or warmth and the Wind was his only friend.
Poor Jack. ;( I really felt for him at that. You did a wonderful job on this. I'm sorry if the paragraph was long or bad. This is really good. It's just that after 300 years of asking MiM why he was there and no one wanted to talk or believe in him that he finally got a response. He wasn't alone.

300 alone holy crap that sounds like the most awful thing ever and I wanted to just hug him forever and feed him cookies
